Filipino Billiards Stars Secure Historic Wins at the 2024 Las Vegas Open

The 2024 Las Vegas Open by Rums of Puerto Rico concluded with a spectacular finale, as Filipino billiards stars Chezka Centeno and Lee Vann Corteza emerged triumphant, securing the women’s and men’s titles, respectively. This historic victory marks the first US Pro Billiard Series title for both athletes, underscoring their dominance on the international billiards scene.

In an electrifying All-Filipino final, Lee Vann Corteza displayed exceptional skills in kicks and safeties, defeating Carlo Biado in two sets with scores of 4-2 and 4-3. Meanwhile, Chezka Centeno, the reigning Women’s World 10-Ball champion, clinched victory over former world champion Siming Chen in two sets with scores of 4-2 and 4-2.

Lee Vann Corteza navigated his way to the championship by triumphing in three shootouts and participating in a total of nine matches. In contrast, Chezka Centeno played six matches, securing victory in three of them through shootouts.
