Team Europe secured their fourth consecutive Duelbits Mosconi Cup title by dominating Team USA 11-3 at Alexandra Palace, delivering one of the most dominant performances in the 30-year history of the transatlantic 9-ball pool event.

The 2023 Duelbits Mosconi Cup was broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in the USA, Spain, and Brazil, Viaplay in the Baltics and Scandinavia, and networks worldwide.

The Europeans maintained their ruthless pursuit of a 16th overall Mosconi Cup glory, extending their lead throughout days two and three. Entering the final day with a 9-2 advantage, the title holders needed just two more points to clinch the trophy.

Despite Team USA’s efforts to make the scoreline respectable, Team Europe’s initial objective was to secure the necessary points for victory. In the opening match of the final session, Shane Van Boening secured an impressive 5-2 win against Joshua Filler, breaking a record-equaling 17th successive Mosconi Cup appearance.

The Americans rallied in match 13 during a doubles tie featuring Skyler Woodward & Tyler Styer against Filler & Albin Ouschan. After initially falling behind, the home team regained control, ultimately securing their place on the hill.

In the final fixture of the 30th-anniversary event, David Alcaide defeated Shane Wolford 5-4 in a compelling encounter. Alcaide’s victory ensured Team Europe’s triumph, sparking celebrations among the team and supporters.

Joshua Filler, earning the Cuetec Most Valuable Player Award for his two singles wins and doubles success, expressed his joy and credited his team’s support. Captain Ralph Eckert thanked the entire team and fans, describing the victory as an incredible feeling.
