In Austria, Klagenfurt witnessed the coronation of five new WPA World Champions, as over 200 billiards stars from across the globe gathered to compete for a substantial prize pool of $400,000.

In the Men’s World 8-Ball category, American Shane Van Boening celebrated his inaugural Predator WPA World 8-Ball Championship victory, securing a $75,000 prize. He solidified his legacy with a 10-7 triumph over the talented Sanjin Pehlivanovic from Bosnia Herzegovina. Overflowing with emotion, Van Boening expressed his happiness, saying, “8-Ball has been my favorite game throughout my entire career, and I’m thrilled to be the world champion today.” After his victory, he joyfully declared his intention to frame the 8-Ball on his wall, making it a lifelong memory to share with everyone.

In the Women’s World 10-Ball division, Chezka Centeno claimed the 2023 Predator WPA World 10 Ball Women’s Championship title, along with an impressive $50,000 prize – the highest in women’s pool. Her remarkable performance culminated in a triumphant 9-5 victory over China’s Han Yu. Chezka dedicated her achievement to her father and all the Filipino supporters, especially her teammate Rubilen Amit.

The Junior Girls Division saw Hong Xin Yu from Chinese Taipei successfully defend her World Junior Girls title by triumphing over Sofia Mast with a 6-4 victory. In the Boys Under 17 category, Derin Asaku Sitorus secured the 2023 Predator WPA World Junior Boys U17 championship with a stellar 6-4 win over Adrian Prasad. In the Boys Under 19 division, Yannick Pongers emerged as the new World 10-Ball Under 19 champion, avenging his previous runner-up finish with a nail-biting hill-hill showdown against compatriot Mika van BERKEL and ultimately clinching the title with a 7-6 victory.

This event marked the third time the Predator Pro Billiard Series, in collaboration with Richwert Promotions, returned to the picturesque city of Klagenfurt, home of the Jasmin Ouschan Billiard Academy. However, it was a historic year as it was the first time all five Championships were held simultaneously in the country. The week in Klagenfurt was nothing short of fantastic, featuring six days of intense battles among Men, Women, and Juniors. The events were made possible with the support of the city of Klagenfurt and the region of Carinthia, along with partners Jasmin Oushan Billiard Academy, Richwert Promotions, and Pro Billiard Series, including Predator Group, CSI, and Kamui. The competition took place on Predator Apex pro pool tables, adorned with Predator Arcadia Performance Cloth, using Predator Arcos II balls, all brilliantly illuminated by the Predator Arena billiard lights.
