Top Seeds Shine: Mark Selby Leads the Way with a 6-2 Victory in International Championship Qualifiers

Mark Selby, a four-time Crucible champion, comfortably secured a 6-2 victory against Muhammad Asif in the qualifying round for the International Championship. It was a successful day for the top-seeded players, with four others from the world’s top 16 also earning spots in the November Tianjin event.

Selby bounced back after losing the opening frame, dominating by winning six of the next seven frames and achieving high breaks of 75 and 102. Mark Williams showcased his prowess with impressive runs of 118 and 112, securing a flawless 6-0 victory over Rebecca Kenna.

Jack Lisowski displayed his skills with a top score of 86 in a 6-3 win against He Guoqiang. Mark Allen showcased great form, achieving runs of 124 and 113 in a 6-2 victory against Ma Hailong. Kyren Wilson emerged victorious with a 6-3 win over Adam Duffy, achieving a top run of 74.

In a closely contested match, Lyu Hoatian sealed a 6-5 victory against David Lilley with a notable break of 84 in the deciding frame. Elliot Slessor exhibited his strength with breaks of 138 and 134, resulting in a 6-2 victory over Hammad Miah.
