This new junior open aims to inspire and cultivate young players in Asia who aspire to go professional on the World Nineball Tour. The Vietnam Junior Open offers a $10,000 prize fund and features 64 available spots, following the same format as the SVB Junior Open, JS Junior Open, FSR Junior Open, and Fillers’ Junior Open.

Matchroom Pool is dedicated to making the World Nineball Tour accessible to everyone. Entry for juniors is free, and the final event will be broadcast live on YouTube, with highlights on the Sky Sports program on August 12. Onboard Sportswear will provide a custom Vietnam Junior Open jersey for all participants, ensuring they look and feel the part while competing in the main event arena of the inaugural Asian Open Pool Championship at Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium from October 10-15. Additionally, Aramith will donate a set of Aramith Black balls to the winner, allowing them to cherish the memories of their prestigious Junior final.

Emily Frazer, Managing Director of Matchroom Multi Sport, expressed excitement about adding another junior open to the WNT schedule, particularly in Asia, where Nineball enjoys significant popularity. The goal is to inspire the next generation of Asian professional pool players and provide them with a taste of the World Nineball Tour arena.

Ms. Tran Thuy Chi, President of Vietcontent, highlighted the importance of building a strong foundation for pool players in Vietnam. By organizing the Vietnam Junior Open, Vietcontent aims to encourage systematic training and playing from a young age while fostering interactions between young Vietnamese players and international counterparts. This opportunity aligns with the explosive growth of Billiards in Vietnam, as young players eagerly support the event.

Matchroom Pool extends its gratitude to the City of Hanoi, Vietcontent, and partners Cuetec, Kamui, Rasson, Aramith, and Iwan Simonis for their support of the Junior Open campaign.

Out of the available 64 spots, 32 are open for general entry, while the remaining 32 will be allocated through local academies in Vietnam.
