Graeme Dott advances narrowly in the qualifiers

Graeme Dott staged an impressive turnaround, surmounting a disadvantage to secure a narrow 4-3 triumph over Zhang Anda in the British Open qualifiers held on Wednesday.

Initially capturing the first frame, Dott found himself sidelined as his adversary impressively crafted two century breaks in succession.

However, the former world champion of 2006 managed to level the playing field in the fourth frame, then surged ahead in the subsequent one with an impressive run of 83 points.

Zhang mustered a determined effort, forcing the match into a deciding frame. Yet, it was Dott who ultimately clinched his spot in the upcoming British Open venue stages next month, sealing the victory with a substantial contribution of 71 points.
